Ames Room
thingiverse
For my final project, I aimed to craft an optical illusion model that could be leveraged by Dr. Przybyla and other psychology professors to vividly illustrate the effects of misperception. I opted to design an Ames room, a distorted space that appears cubical when observed monocularly from a particular viewpoint, despite its actual trapezoidal shape. Moreover, objects within the room tend to appear as though they are shrinking or growing in size when moving from one corner to another. An exemplary demonstration of this phenomenon can be seen in the video shared by renowned Dr. Philip Zimbardo at https://youtu.be/hCV2Ba5wrcs
