Ames 2391375NL Hose Reel Auto-Track Hose Guide
thingiverse
We've been using a couple of Ames Wrought Iron 2391375NL Hose Reels with mixed results. The online reviews are mostly negative, but we like the solid anchor points on these units - they're securely screwed into our driveway and deck. However, one issue has arisen: the auto-track feature for winding up the hose has stopped working properly. It seems that the part riding along the track has worn down to the point where it can skip around in the track. Initially, I planned to design a full replacement part, but the hook proved too weak as a 3D printed component. Furthermore, our unit's casing has a broken tab, and I need space for zip-ties to hold it together. So far, this makeshift fix seems to be working well, but only time will tell if it's a viable solution. I printed the part in PETG, which I believe is more suitable than PLA due to its high-wear properties. I used 100% infill and supports were necessary. Printing it with the orientation specified in the STL file didn't work as well as rotating it 90 degrees so that the track-riding component is horizontal to the bed. https://a360.co/2Y3Vsyp
