American Steam Locomotive Engine Low-poly 3D model
cgtrader
A historically accurate 1865 American 4-4-0 steam locomotive, built with precision components, valve gear, pipes, and cab controls in 3DS Max 2013, rendered using Mental Ray. This model doesn't replicate a specific locomotive but showcases the intricate details of a classic American steam engine. The meticulously crafted frame, injector pipes, and driving gear mechanism are all separable and labeled for easy customization. Notably, this model includes accurate cab controls for both engineer and fireman. The scale model features UV mapping and provides jpeg textures for diffuse, specular, and bump maps. The texture design lends a worn, industrial look to the locomotive, giving it a realistic, rustic appeal. To add these textures, open the .max file in 3DS Max, select the loco, navigate to Slate Material Editor, and add the respective maps for diffuse, specular, and bump. The tender also has its separate texture files. Some objects like chains and tracks have simple materials applied without textures for efficiency. Ensure your machine can handle 4048x4048 textures or use the lower-resolution secondary textures included in the texture folder to prevent performance issues. Please note that this model does not support subdivision.
