American Racing - Vintage Dragster Wheels
cults3d
New in V2 (As of 03/01/2022): New ready to print batch of STL files with tested, improved supports for all pieces. Longer axle tube for the front "12 Spoke" wheel and rim. This set of 1/64 scale wheels replicates two of the most iconic wheel designs in the history of Motorsports: The famous "American Racing" magnesium wheels, created for high performance Dragsters in the early 1960's. Many succesful pre-1966 race cars from the NHRA used a set like the ones modelled here, sporting a "TORQ-THRUST" 5 spoke 15in rim at the rear and the extremely lightweight "12 Spoke" 15in rim at front. Rear ires modelled here are based on the classic "Pie Crust" ply-bias tire used in Drag Racing in the early 60s, just before the modern Goodyear "slicks" took the lead in tire technology. This set of wheels will suit perfectly on almost any 1/64 "Gasser" or Vintage Dragster, giving a period-correct look. What's in In the zip file you will find two main folders: One with both wheels modelled as a single piece for easier, better rolling (Entire Wheels). One with separated rims and tires in case you prefer to use different materials for each one or paint them in an easier way. Front wheels come in two versions as well: One with a realistic, period-correct 9,4mm tire, which could look a little too small in some Hot Wheels cars. One with a 10,5mm tire, which is also realistic and would suit much better as a Hot Wheels replacement front wheel. Wheels Dimensions REAR (TORQ-THRUST) Outer Ø = 12,7mm Width (Overall) = 6,2mm FRONT (12 Spoke) Outer Ø = 9,4mm or 10,5mm Width (Overall) = 2,8mm
