American Flag

American Flag

I designed this model of an American Flag specifically for use with a single nozzle printer. The stripes are held together by a square peg system, which eliminates the need for glue in my experience, although these pegs are intended for one-time use and will snap if they're removed once inserted. Mostly, I didn't encounter any problems with bowing, but a couple of pieces did struggle with adhesion issues at the tip, particularly evident on the white stripe in the middle. If you're concerned about this issue, adding some rafting to your print would be a good idea. I had to perform some post-print operations on the peg holes due to overhang issues on the bottom layers. This wasn't a major problem, but I do want to note that the pegs are quite tight, so make sure all of them will fit before fully inserting them. If one fits and another doesn't, the first one won't come out easily and may snap if you try. The models are labeled with their location and color, starting from the top. Unfortunately, I accidentally printed the same stripe three times, so I might physically label them when they're printed using a piece of tape.
