AMD CPU Holder/Box
thingiverse
This neat little box is specifically designed to store CPUs safely. It fits most AMD CPUs perfectly, including 754, 939, AM2, AM2+, AM3, and AM3+ models. You may also be able to fit FM1, FM2, FM2+, or AM1 CPUs in it, but this has not been tested yet. The box can accommodate other CPUs of the same size. You might need to rotate this design in your printing software before you print it out. I had to do so in XYXware Pro, but this should be an easy task. I have successfully test printed this design using a blue PLA on an XYZPrinting Da Vinci Jr. 1.0 Pro at 200c with no supports, rafts, and 10% infill. You can use any type of plastic or infill you like, but I recommend sticking to 10%. The box is made up of two parts, each a separate STL file, and it's recommended that you print them separately. The bottom piece is 10mm high, while the top piece is 12.5mm high. The inside space is 10mm tall. The box measures 48x48mm in size, and the inside space is 42x42. You may need to file some parts of the inside depending on the quality of your 3D printer. I had to remove a few small pieces that shouldn't have been there from my print. The box should fit together snugly and look decently flush around the outside. You can stick a small piece of soft anti-static foam in it, but this is not necessary as long as you don't shake the box too much with a CPU inside. This design has been tested using a 754 Athlon64 3200+, and it was made off the AM3 size specifications from AMD. Autodesk's Fusion 360 software was used to create this design.
