The Old Beryl Way past the forest's edge it lined with cliffs that closely hem the passage in. It's the perfect place for an ambush. I would know; as been on both ends of such an encounter. " - Pol Isturn, captain of the Torbridge Guard The Old Beryl Way snakes its way southward from Torbridge Cull, a route now scarcely traversed. In years past, it served as the sole route to grand City of Brylinshor, and along it passed exotic peoples, goods, spices, and knowledge, making their way past the Cull on the way to the heart of Talharia. It was the Masons of Brylinshor, at the behest of the First Lord Tymore, who diverted the Taranak River eastward into the Ashlands and erected the Barrage and the Great Torbridge that now safeguard the south. Today, the road lies silent and reclaimed by nature, its surface marred by ruts and erosion, its bridges washed out. The route's condition further southward remains uncertain, as no traveler has ventured to or from from Brlynshor in a generation.Nevertheless, in the vicinity of the Cull, the road persists as a path into the heart of the Endless Forest, frequented by loggers, trappers, shepherds, and those resilient enough to eke out a living amidst the cold, shadowy foothills of the Khavahk Mountains. Beyond, in the rugged terrain beyond the law's grasp, outcasts and bandits find refuge, ensconced amidst the crags and cliffs.
