Pollen from Cuman perennial ragweed (Ambrosia psilostachya, Asteraceae). Ragweed pollen triggers half of all hayfever cases in North America. Individual plants can produce about a billion wind-dispersed pollen grains each season. Technical details of Ambrosia pollen are described by PalDat (Sam & Halbritter, 2016): small isopolar monads that are spheroidal, circular or lobate when viewed from the top, with tricolporate brevicolpi and an echinate exine. This model is part of a larger project called the 3D Pollen Project. For more information, including how to download this file, visit https://3dpollenproject.wixsite.com/main/downloads.
