The Ambassador Class appeared as the USS Yamaguchi in The Emissary, and as the USS Zukhov in Datas Day. Although similar to the Enterprise-C, this ship is a distinct vessel. The secondary hull was shifted forward 12 meters. The Warp Nacelles were lowered and moved forward. Bussard Collectors were covered up. A new Navigational Deflector design was implemented. Hangar 2 underwent significant changes. A third upside-down Excelsior-style Hangar was installed at the bottom of the hull. An Excelsior-style lower saucer sensor dome was added, along with many more Lifeboats and miscellaneous details. This is the "Second Refit Configuration" of the Ambassador studio model. A third configuration was created but never filmed. The warp nacelles were lowered even further, barely clearing the warp pylon phaser emitters. This may have been an attempt to resemble the Enterprise-D. When sold at Christies auction, this was the final appearance of the studio model.
