Amazon Fire 7" Wall Mount
thingiverse
I designed this wall mount for an Amazon Fire 7" ($50 version) at work, where it will be mounted outside conference rooms for scheduling. The design is tailored to attach directly onto the faceplate of a recessed power receptacle that features USB power or uses a small adapter converting 120v to USB. I included a relief hole to keep the USB cable from getting stuck behind the mount and prevent interference with the placement against the wall box. This mount is meant for right-exiting cables, but can be flipped if necessary; portrait mode mounting is also possible, although this might require adapting the wall box design. This mount was inspired by thing:1067747 on http://www.thingiverse.com/ however, it was built from scratch due to my dissatisfaction with its performance and specific application to recessed boxes rather than direct wall attachments. Print settings are critical for successful execution of this project: Printer - DaVinci 1.0 - Rafts: Irrelevant details that don't affect print quality - Supports: Vital components necessary for holding the mount in place, easily removable from Simplify3d - Infill: Adjustable percentage is superfluous; ten to twenty percent infill settings are more than enough. Print Notes: I highly recommend solid top and bottom layers to ensure seamless execution. Since the design's dimensions allow it, infill settings aren't particularly relevant; simply opt for 10 to twenty percent and call it a day. Supports need be there to anchor down mounting tabs; don't be afraid to adjust these manually in Simplify3d once printing has begun. Make sure your printing surface includes some back clearance when running the mount upside-down as necessary, you may also need to switch things up with the 2D printer settings within a 3d design application software program
