Amazon Echo TARDIS Cover

Amazon Echo TARDIS Cover

My new Amazon Echo has a rather plain appearance, so I decided to create a house for her that reflects my personality more accurately. The Echo fits neatly inside, but all of its microphones, speaker holes, function buttons, and top lights remain fully visible and operational. Update: For those using printers capable of printing taller items, I have added the 1-piece base file. Although I am unable to print this myself, the file has not been tested due to this limitation, though I am confident in its accuracy. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm/layer Infill: 20% Notes: I used custom supports created with Simplify3D to provide support within the open windows of the body and beneath the top cover. Post-Printing Due to my printer's size limitations, I was forced to break this into three parts. Simply combine the base and upper pieces to complete the project. Those with larger build areas can print the tall base file and the top as a single unit. If using the split base version, be sure to align the door faces correctly for an accurate Tardis appearance. Next, pull the power cord through the base and plug it into your Echo. While sliding the Echo into place, slowly remove any slack from the cord. When placing the unit in its final position, ensure access to both function buttons by turning the unit accordingly before attaching the top. How I Designed This I designed this project using Tinkercad online.
