This is v2 of my wall mount, featuring adjusted tolerances and a redesigned retention ring that provides a stronger holding force - it can even secure an Amazon Dot to a ceiling fixture. This flush wall or surface mount for the Echo Dot includes a cut-out for power/audio and features wall-facing triangular cut-outs that vent heat (yes, the Echo Dot naturally gets warm) and allow full sound volume. The retaining ring is designed to cover only the outer half of the circumference of the light ring, allowing you to print it with clear/translucent filament and have the whole mount glow, or use opaque filament for a normal appearance. No ports, mics, vents, buttons, or speaker holes are obstructed by this model. You can secure it to the wall using 1 to 3 drywall screws. The screw goes in flush through the bottom. Installation is straightforward: Hold the mount against the wall where you want it, then use up to three 1" drywall screws to mount it flush to the wall. Next, place the Echo Dot in the mount, ensuring the port lines up with the cut-out. Push the retaining ring into place with the narrower side facing the Echo Dot. Finally, plug it in and you're done.
