Amazon Echo Dot V2 Wall/Ceiling Mount
thingiverse
Brilliant original design by halcyon can be found here - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1463045. People have been asking me to print this, and I've made some changes based on their feedback. These are my updates:\nAdded countersunk screw holes for mounting (I asked halcyon about this, but he updated his design with a UK bevel screw instead).\nMoved the mount holes to line up with the USB/Audio holes - assuming cables will run down from Echo Dot and give a more secure mount if mounted into a wooden stud.\nAdded contoured sloped grooves in base to deflect audio outwards (this may or may not make any difference in sound?) and reduce plastic filament.\nAdded arches to speaker holes to cut down on plastic filament use and help with bridging. It also looks nice!\nAdded support column in middle of USB/audio hole to help bridge the gap. The bridged filament will naturally be a straight line, while the hole follows the curve of the mount, so I always had to clean out strings of filament which failed to bond. This halves the gap and there is no more cleanup (for my setup). You can see it in the Cura image in the gallery, and the before and after shots. Just snap it out when printed.\nIf you like this design - hats off to halcyon first for the cool and chunky design! It's still as tight as the original, I like that security. If you want it loose, just sand down the inside a little.\nPrint Settings Below:\nPrinter: P3Steel Toolson Edition\nFilament: Rigid.ink 1.75 PLA - Black (Amazon http://amzn.to/2fYxRZW)\nFilament used: 12.31m 37.02g\nLayer Height: 0.2mm\nTemperature Ex1: 205°C\nTemperature Bed: 65°C\nPerimeters: 2 at 0.4mm (0.8mm total)\nInfill: 20%\nRaft: No\nBrim: No\nSupport: None\nSpeed: 40mm/s\nTime: About 3 hours 41 minutes\nScale: 100%\nTimelapse of the print and my discussion about it: https://youtu.be/ElCpCcfPT6M\nPrint Settings:\nP3Steel Toolson Edition\nNo Rafts\nNo Supports\n0.2mm Resolution\n20% Infill\nNotes:\nP3Steel Toolson Edition\nRigid.ink 1.75 PLA - Black (Amazon http://amzn.to/2fYxRZW)\n12.31m 37.02g Filament used\n0.2mm Layer Height\n205°C Temperature Ex1\n65°C Temperature Bed\n2 Perimeters at 0.4mm (0.8mm total)\n20% Infill\nNo Raft\nNo Brim\nNone Support\n40mm/s Speed\nAbout 3 hours 41 minutes Time\n100% Scale\nHow I Designed This:\nThe updates were done using Tinkercad - adding and removing shapes from the original STL file.
