Amazon Echo Dot 2nd gen M&S Intercom Mount
thingiverse
M&S Nortek NW65RS / N65RS mount for Amazon Echo Dot 2nd gen. Do you have an intercom in your house that gathers dust? Give it a smart makeover with this mount and a low-cost Echo Dot. Replace the built-in speaker with the Echo Dot using this mount, inspired by the sleek Echo Dot Sound Enhancer (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1816654). To keep things tidy, disconnect the 4-wire from the master unit and remote, and use a 24VDC Meanwell power supply with a DROK DC-DC Buck Voltage Converter 12V to 5V/2A (Amazon) to reuse the low-voltage wiring. I used http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1077459 and attached it to the back of the enclosure. Edit 1/22/2017 My Echo Dots periodically require a hard reboot, so I grew tired of opening the panel and unplugging them. After tracing some leads with a multi-meter, I discovered that pulling one wire (white in my case) from the in-wall cabling and soldering it to a middle lead behind the "Talk" switch can be done as shown in the picture. Simply connect the white speaker cable already soldered to the board, allowing you to use the "Talk" button to reboot the Echo Dot.
