Amazon Basics / Overture Filament Spool Box
thingiverse
An eco-friendly way to reuse your used filament spool stash. This clever idea isn't mine, but I'm happy to share it with you since others have already thought of it and made it a reality. What sets this approach apart is its compatibility with Amazon Basics and Overture filament spools. You won't need any drilling or specialized hardware to make the most of your old spools. The boxes click seamlessly into place, utilizing the existing holes on each spool. You get three boxes per spool, making it easy to manage and store your filament. To assemble this nifty storage system, simply screw the connector to the bottom of the box, then click it into the pre-existing holes in the Amazon spool. Once you've got one box attached, you can stack multiple spools using the Vertical Connector parts. When stacking, remember to alternate which holes you click the boxes into so that they nest perfectly without any gaps. I've added an update for a box without a divider, dated January 31st, 2020, and another update on December 1st, 2018, which introduced vertical connector parts to enable stacking multiple spools.
