The curved section attaches firmly under the factory drink holder, mine had been snapped off - so the rectangular brick is designed to fit snugly in the cavity at the interface and allow the epoxy a secure grip. If your holder has not yet broken, this arch will strongly reinforce the holder and still fold away normally.
