Amagi
sketchfab
Amagi was conceived as a mighty battlecruiser for the Imperial Japanese Navy, but its fate hung in the balance due to the restrictive terms of the 1922 Washington Naval Treaty. As a result, Amagi's original design was altered to transform it into a formidable aircraft carrier, a project that would rival its sister-ship Akagi, the pride of the Imperial Japanese Navy's air power. However, a devastating blow from the Great Kanto Earthquake left Amagi severely damaged, and her builders were faced with an impossible decision: to repair or to scrap her altogether. This detailed model serves as a testament to what could have been - Amagi's final form, had she managed to overcome the obstacles that stood in its way.
