Amadon's Prusa i3 - Wilson hybrid complete printer
pinshape
I've uploaded a new version of the idlers for the chimera/cyclops extruder, which now support bearings on both sides to prevent bending and loss of clamping pressure on the filament. The 0.4mm thick support material must be cut out from each idler. I recommend using a washer on both sides of the roller bearing to act as belt guides. To assemble the idlers, follow these steps: Attach the low profile nut to the motor side, and make sure the flat side of the idler faces towards the motors. The slightly raised sides should face towards the center. Use an XL frame from the remix list I'll be working on, which is compatible with this printer design. The original design was based on parts from my now-defunct diytechshop i3XL, but you can use a standard i3 frame if you prefer. Make sure to print the right Z motor and rod holders, as well as rear supports. They are all labelled for easy identification. This design includes hardware for a complete printer with built-in opto endstop mounts on each axis. You'll need to get opto endstops shaped like the ones I have, which can be found online. The parts should be compatible with the most common i3 Rework build. I've included Z rod/motor holders from this i3 rework in my model, unaltered, as well as rear supports with standard i3 screw spacing for use with pre-cut frames. It uses one 608ZZ roller bearing for each X and Y idler, which can be purchased online.
