Ama Dablam, towering above Nepal's eastern Himalayas, stands as a magnificent mountain with its main peak reaching an impressive elevation of 6,812 meters (22,349 feet) into the sky. Meanwhile, the lower western peak reaches an equally notable height of 6,170 meters (20,243 feet). This mountain gets its distinctive name "Mother's Necklace" from the long ridges on each side that resemble a mother gently shielding her child, and the majestic hanging glacier seen as the dablam - the traditional Sherpa necklace worn by women containing pictures of gods. During a trek to Mount Everest's basecamp, Ama Dablam casts an unforgettable impression for several days as it rises above the eastern horizon. Scale: 1:100,000.
