AM8MU (Guide to enlarging the AM8 style build 3D printers)
thingiverse
This is my AM8MU project, a printer that expands on the AM8 style, but with a larger size than its predecessor. I based this build loosely on the AM8, but made numerous choices regarding components, which deviate from the original design. This guide provides the necessary steps to up-scale an AM8 to any desired size, without limitations. After extensive deliberation and discussions in various Facebook groups, including the AM8 community, I received little feedback or assistance with validating my theories. Ultimately, I chose to construct the printer based on my own assumptions, which surprisingly worked out well. To help others upgrade their AM8 printers or build entirely new machines inspired by the AM8, I'm sharing this project. The included files and pictures cover all necessary components, while a comprehensive guide and formula in PDF format facilitate the up-scaling process. For those in need of a quick reference, I've placed essential information at the beginning of the document. My design choices are documented within the PDF, although not everyone may agree with them. Feel free to modify these selections as you see fit, making this project adaptable to your needs. If you spot any omissions or have suggestions, please leave a comment below. Your feedback is invaluable in refining this guide. I'll update the content as necessary to ensure its accuracy and usefulness. Please note that this document hasn't undergone professional proofreading; it's been reviewed solely by myself for grammar and spelling errors.
