AM8 Y Rod Holders (Prusa I3 Bear Style)
thingiverse
I created a simple remix for my AM8 Y Rod Holders, drawing inspiration from churuata3d's y-rod-holder Prusa i3 MK3 Version Clone on Thingiverse. However, I wasn't satisfied with his design for the rods - it seemed too plain to me. So, I decided to adapt the design of the Prusa I3 Bear Upgrade instead, but I encountered a problem: my AM8 doesn't have V-slots. That's when I stumbled upon Jason's FULL Prusa I3 bear remix on Thingiverse, which are modified to fit 2040 Misumi extrusions. These modifications almost perfectly fitted my rods, except for a slight play of about a hair loose due to the use of 364 mm long extrusions instead of the standard 340 mm length. Furthermore, I realized that this design raised the bed slightly, resulting in some lost Z height. To fix this issue, I adjusted the height of the Y Rod Holders. Additionally, I added an endstop to match all four sides. To accommodate different side extrusion lengths, I created one set for 364 mm and another for 340 mm long rails based on the original design. Please note that you may need to use M5x8 instead of M5x10 screws to avoid scratching the extrusions when tightening.
