AM8 - Square Nut Tool

I sourced the square nuts directly from the AM8 Bill of Materials. Frustrated by the wait for Chinese imports, I decided to take matters into my own hands. After all, how bad could they be? Unfortunately, it turned out to be a real nuisance, especially at the corners. To solve this problem, I came up with a clever solution - alignment spacers. By sliding these spacers under the loose nut, aligning the nut, and then tightening the screw, the process becomes much smoother. As the extrusion is inserted, the spacers pop out, significantly reducing the number of swear words directed at the square nuts! I discovered that installing the flat side of the nut towards the extrusion works best in this scenario. To ensure a seamless assembly experience, I printed 5 sets of each alignment spacer by hand. So far, they seem to be working exceptionally well. For mirror-image applications, simply flip the design over to create left-hand or right-hand versions.
