<b>Update 5/31/2019:</b> Printed and tested - it works perfectly fine. I added v2 of the purge bucket, moving it closer to the mount by merging the legs halfway and adding some fillets for a sleek look. With my limited space between the nozzle and bed, I needed that extra bit, but most setups will be just fine with v1. The WIP status is now removed. <b>Update 5/29/2019:</b> I shortened the legs to make it easier to remove and narrowed the bucket to prevent any issues with assembly. When I placed it into an assembly of the BLV mod, I found it was too wide, so I made some adjustments. With everything in place, I'm confident that this should work flawlessly! As always, I've provided Solidworks files for you to modify as needed. This is a purge bucket designed specifically for the AM8 BLV mgn12 mod, but it will also work on the original AM8 or any 2040 extrusion-based printer. I use a starting gcode to purge some filament at the home position, which sticks to the side of the bed once it moves into print position. While this method works fine, I usually pull that strand off as soon as printing starts. I designed everything in Solidworks and assembled it together to ensure it fits perfectly. With my setup having only 2mm between the nozzle and the bed when X=0, I plan on mounting this to the inside extrusion on my Y axis. I've posted all CAD files, so if you like it, feel free to use them - if not, let me know or extend it yourself. It's a bit of a mess with chamfers and fillets, but I made sure it slides out easily and isn't permanently mounted. Feedback is welcome and appreciated. The overall height should be 39mm, so it will fit nicely on the side of your 2040 extrusion without causing any obstruction.
