I have been working with larger 8020 extrusions, so I remixed the motor mounts and top Z rod holders to fit these bigger extrusions perfectly. Regular AM8 extrusions measure 20mmx40mm, but these parts fit snugly into the 25mmx50mm profile. The parts like PSU and CPU holders and corner brackets that were printed from the original design will still work just fine, so long as I slot the holes as needed to make them fit. If I get some extra time, I plan to finish printing the whole set in the 25-50 format. One important thing to keep in mind is that width-wise, some extrusions must be a little longer - about 5mm longer than usual. This means my parts list includes: 2 x 440mm 2 x 340mm 3 x 318mm These extra-long parts are necessary because of the difference in width between the original 20mmx40mm extrusions and the new 25mmx50mm ones. I've completed my frame, and it's back to making parts again. I'm thrilled with how rigid the frame is - there's no detectable flex during printing at all. And the parts are much more accurate than when printed using the stock frame. As for Y Motor mounts, they come in two styles: one piece and two piece. The one-piece mount might be a bit stiffer, but it can be a real pain to install. I also skipped using the bolt behind the motor because it was impossible to tighten.
