AM8 12864 LCD Mounting

This is a combination of ideas from Petolone and andyhoff designs. I drew inspiration from andyhoff's design for quite some time but wanted to explore the concept of saving desk space by relocating the LCD to the side of the printer, away from the front. The SDcard slot fits snugly next to the SDcard on the PCB, effectively guiding it into the PCB reader. To achieve optimal results, I recommend printing the main LCD holder face down. The angles are steep enough for clean prints, but you will need supports for the piece that sits atop the rail. Restricting supports to the hot bed only worked fine in my case. The STOP button next to the buzzer opening may be a bit tight. This must move freely! I had to sand mine slightly to prevent rubbing. The only way it springs back is by using the tiny button on the PCB. As long as it moves freely, it works great. Press 4 M3 nuts into the back plate. The fit is intentionally tight to keep them in place, so pliers are likely required to seat them completely. Bolt everything together with M3x20mm flat head screws. If you don't have flathead screws, you will need slightly longer bolts. I've also included the STEP file for modification if needed.
