American lobsters without shell disease were found, remarkably half their carapace intact. However, problems with original images taken from the left side of these crustaceans led to only right-side images being included in the study. Notably, a lobster observed at sea was misdiagnosed as having ESD SSI grade 1, but upon examination on land, no shell disease was discernible, giving it an SSI grade 0 classification.
