alzheimer's (dementia) bird feeder
myminifactory
One year ago, my dad passed away from Alzheimer's disease, but there was one thing he loved doing more than anything: sitting and watching the birds. So, I've designed a bird feeder that you can print out yourself, and it's also a great way to spread some joy to those who need it most. I'm not exactly the next Picasso, but this design is functional and prints perfectly. I printed mine at a layer height of 0.3 millimeters with an infill of 20% - it took about five hours, but trust me, it's worth it for that perfect finish. If you want an even better look, try printing it at a lower layer height. Here's how to assemble it: simply fill the feeder from the base, screw on the cap, and flip it over quickly. And if you're feeling extra generous, there's also a base plate that can be screwed onto the bottom so your bird feeder can sit proudly on any table or floor. I believe that if everyone printed out just one of these bird feeders and took it to their local care home, it would bring a smile to someone's face and prove once and for all that 3D printing is capable of making a real difference in people's lives.
