Aluminum face cast process
thingiverse
For safety reasons, please follow the instructions carefully. Molten metal can be lethal when not handled properly; aluminum melts at 1220 degrees Fahrenheit, causing severe burns. To create a cast, start by 3D scanning your face using Next Engine with Scan Studio on high resolution. After that, print the 3D model and clean it meticulously. Vacuum form the printed face using a Formech system. Create a negative mold by placing the vacuum-formed face in plaster of Paris mixed with water; allow it to harden for six minutes before gently removing the vacuum form. However, do not pour hot aluminum until you've baked your plaster mold to evaporate all moisture. Pour the molten aluminum into the negative mold, ensuring a reservoir runoff for overflow. Let it cool for 15 minutes before spraying with water and handling.
