Aluminum 30
thingiverse
Aluminum 30 body. Use PLA and 1" x 1/16th" aluminum bars. This idea was to make feed lips that would be durable up to 30 rounds, as the standard Ivan mag design needed Nylon or Zytel to get up to 30 and PLA prints would crack at around 24 rounds and PETG prints would crack at even less. My idea was to use aluminum or steel bars, that you'd find at any hardware store, as inserts that would act as feed lips. I got one example working as shown in the guide available, but as it turns out just printing the standard Ivan mag either at an angle or horizontally will give the feed lips the extra strength they need without any metal added. Even standard PLA would easily reach 30 rounds without issue so I haven't bothered printing another one or refining this idea. Just print don't print your mags vertically and it won't need aluminum supports.
