***Update - This model is outdated, new version can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4947934 -*** Full fancy name being IFV-20-C (EX). An Infantry Fighting Vehicle for a particular wargame in a universe where there is constant war, though I suppose it could be used in any tabletop game where it can fit the aesthetic, the models are at a 28mm "heroic" scale, and an IFV or something fitting a "light" tank role is needed. As someone who only plays casual games I decided to put my printers and modeling skills to use creating an alternative model as a project to do whenever I was bored. After iterating my other IFV design to what I felt was a pretty good state (check it out here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4670954), and as I worked on some other alternative designs, overtime I started deviating more and more from the "inspiration" for them. Namely, being a bit of a tank/AFV nerd, I started incorporating features from real life AFVs into my designs, resulting in vehicles that look very different from the official models they are meant to proxy for, and sometimes basically being completely new ones. This vehicle is the followup (well, followup to a followup, but that's a different model entirely) to my previous alternative IFV. When designing this one I decided to make it more like a real IFV - the BMP series of IFVs, in particular, featuring a much lower profile, round turrets over hexagonal ones, and a much larger selection in armament (partly to make up for not having a hull armament). Dimensions are 1.63 inches high (Turret T2), 4.85 inches long and 2.81 inches wide. Hull prints in one piece, however the "Treads" print separately and need to be glued on; there are recesses to ensure correct alignment. Both can be printed with supports touching the build plate. For the turret you have two choices, the "simple" and the "proper" turret. The "simple" Turret T1E2 is non-articulated and is armed with an Auto-Cannon only; print with supports touching buildplate. It was originally meant to just be a place holder part, but I decided to include it anyway because more choices are always better, and if someone doesn't like it they can just replace it. Turret T2E2 comes in 2 parts, the main part and the top; both should be printed with supports touching buildplate, but the part of the top that interfaces with the gun may require some go-over with a craft knife after printing. Turret T2E2 can accept Arms (Armaments) 2-5, which all can be printed with supports touching build plate. Here are the description of your options >Arm 2-2 - AC17 L150 - Autocannon with a coaxial heavy armament and a coaxial light (GPMG) armament. >Arm 3 - C23 L200 - Cannon with a coaxial heavy armament and a coaxial light armament. >Arm 4 - C23 L200 & AC-17 L30 - Cannon, with a coaxial Autocannon, and a coaxial light armament. Inspired by BMP-3's armament. >Arm 5 - T-AC18 L250 - Twin powerful anti-air Autocannons, converting the IFV to a simple SPAAG to provide rudimentary anti-air; also has a single heavy (HMG) armament put between them. >Arm 6 - AM28-20 - An automatic mortar, converting the IFV to a mortar carrier to provide rudimentary fire support. Inspired by the 2S9 Nona, as well as the 2B9 Vasilek. Also retains Heavy and Light Coaxial Armaments for direct fire support as well. After selecting your Armament choice, simply insert it into the main turret piece, then glue the top piece over, taking care to not get glue into the gun recess. You also may want to test fit without glue before hand, to make sure it fits well enough.
