Alternative Fan Holder for Inspur LSI 9300-8i (Broadcom HBA)
thingiverse
I remixed the awesome fan holder for the Inspur LSI 9300-8i created by ccnkbm. Because my case (Jonsbo N2) is too small to hold this bracket and a NF-A4x20 Noctua, I had to go with the NF-A4x10 Noctua instead (still silent). So keep in mind, this part is meant for a 10mm~11mm thick fan.But even then, the fan was too close to the wall of the lid. I decided to invert the bracket so that the fan sits against the heatsink and the bracket is on the outside holding it in place. This adds a small gap that allows the fan to pull air from the outside while not making a lot of noise. I left the mounting holes in place in case you want to secure the fan to the bracket, but I added a small 2mm lip that the fan fits in anyway so it shouldn't move around. I personally didn't use anything.Even with this modification, I still had to remove the bar near the PCIe slot from the case because it would push against the top part of the bracket/fan causing uneven pressure and making the heatsink tilt. I was afraid this would cause temp issues. Case is still structurally rigid without that bar.I printed in Printed Solid Soul Black Glitter PETG with supports on the legs.I'll also repeat ccnkbm's warning: "WHEN INSTALLING, BE CAREFUL OF ANY ONBOARD SMDs. There are some small ones under the heatsink on this specific card."
