Alternative ETB Cover for Target Food Storage Container

This is a printable cover made for the Target, Made By Design 8x4x8 plastic food storage container that is made to be glued in place. Its the typical $10 "cereal" container that everyone gets at target for a cheap ETB case.

Target takes the page up and down but this used to be a working link - https://www.target.com/p/8-w-x-4-d-x-8-h-plastic-food-storage-container-clear-made-by-design-8482/-/A-52380687

Versions and Options

Flat Version - Thinnest option, does not include any bottom ridge to stack on top of another box.

Stackable Version - Includes recessed space to accept the top of another ETB box. Allows you to stack on top of each other and keep it in place.

Both options allow for the addition of printable riser blocks. This raises up the ETB about 5MM so its more in the center of the container. Both designs include a small area that designates where to glue the blocks. I'm not comfortable going any higher than 5mm since the walls of the container squeeze the ETB and start deforming the corners if you were to shove to the top.

Notes

Tolerances are very tight in this model, if you print in anything other than PETG you will likely have to scale the model. If you do figure out what values worked for you please comment them.

I've been using clear Gorilla Glue to glue down blocks, and seal the sides of the container to the cover. Glue down the blocks first and let that all dry before you glue it all together. You can glue it closed however you want but I've been using a toothpick or a popsicle stick to put some glue into the channel, then pressing it all together and placing something heavy on top until its all dry.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.30

Infill:

20

Filament: Prusament PETG Galaxy Black

Notes:

Print upside down, with the top of the model on the build plate, otherwise you will have a huge gap to bridge if you were to print with the stackable side of the model face down.
