I decided against using zip ties because they're just not my thing. Instead, I came up with an alternative cable sorter that's probably a little more substantial than the skelestruder fin type - maybe two to three grams heavier. But with the previous design, all those sorting pins kept breaking off, which was really frustrating. This new approach keeps the nylon screws securely in place, which is a definite improvement. As it turned out, I didn't have many spare 25mm bolts on hand, so I had to opt for a longer one instead.
