Alternating Pitch Rotor for Wave Turbine Energy Creation

Alternating Pitch Rotor for Wave Turbine Energy Creation

thingiverse

I conceptualized this design for my 7th grade science project, aiming to determine if harnessing wave energy through bobbing motion was more feasible than the traditional tidal barrier approach that has significant environmental implications and high costs. The concept is centered around a turbine rotor that consistently rotates in one direction despite changing water flow. This is achieved with an alternating pitch rotor, where each of the four blades is hinged to allow for smooth rotation as the water changes direction with the waves' motion. The rotary motion can then be connected to a motor or generator to produce electricity.
