Alternate Souls (https://alternate-souls.tokyo/) is an arena card game since 2022. Alternate Souls is Eiji Shishido’s, the Creator of the internationally recognized Force of Will TCG, newest industrious project. Alternate Souls is an “Arena Card Game” in which players build decks with character cards and move corresponding acrylic figures across the arena to defeat opponents to claim their spot as the Ultimate Soul. Having said all that, this is a fan-made thing and is 100% unofficial! Starter Decks/Standees come with a folded map on which players are to battle. I was also not surprised in the quality of the map. It’s expected to be laughably bad as a folded sheet stuffed into a small box and be raised and annoying while playing on. Playmats are non-existent, so I took a stab at designing my own 3D printer files with which to make my terrain customizable as well as superior to the paper mat in terms of quality. Photos of my prototype do not include the side and corner pieces. I don't care enough to print them, but I've included them in the files for those who do want them. I was thinking about the possibility of making the different terrains different heights to give it a more "3D effect", but with the very "wide" standees it isn't practical. Moreover, the same would be true with my 3D spaces that even have terrain like mountains and trees. Those would have issues with pieces overlapping. The only way to solve that issue would be to make them much larger. I like the compactness of what I have now and I think it works well. I'm able to quickly change between maps. I really like how the slightly nested indents for the base circles work with these - making turning a piece to rest mode and back just a flick of the finger - it works really well. Enjoy!
