Alternate Frame for Blade 350QX
thingiverse
This is a work in progress, and I'm excited to share it with you. I designed this frame specifically to accommodate the Blades 350QX v1 electronics without needing any upgrades. It's also significantly lighter than other frames of its size. The frame measures 360mm diagonally from center to center of the motors. The motor bolt pattern is a standard 14mm x 14mm, compatible with Blade motors. My design was inspired by a similar project on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:34552). However, I aimed to create something even smaller and more efficient. While DJI's Flame Wheel 330 weighs in at 156g, and HobbyKing's F330 clone comes in at 147g without hardware, my frame is designed to be even lighter. The arms are made of ABS plastic and weigh around 20g each or 0.8oz. With four arms, the total weight so far is approximately 80 grams. To further reduce weight, I'll experiment with different infill settings to see how strong they remain. For the body plates, I'm still in the process of determining the best materials and designs. If you have any suggestions or results from your own projects, please share them! To view a 360-degree drawing of the frame, simply open the attached PDF file using Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Edge. Print settings can be adjusted to suit your specific printer needs: Printer: Custom CoreXY Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 40%
