The convent is located within the Convent of St. Francis of the Friars Minor of the Salerno-Lucania province of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Convent of San Francesco in the forest. Tradition attributes the foundation of the convent to St. Bernardino da Siena, which occurred around 1427. Lustra (SA) is a part of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. The IL PARCO DEL CILENTO IN MINIATURA project aims to enhance education on cultural heritage, artistic, and scenic patrimony. This is achieved through PC2, which transforms cultural heritage into a source of competencies. The Ancel Keys Institute is located in Castelnuovo Cilento (SA).
