ALTA Redshift MXR LCD Saver

I created this for ALTA Redshift MXR electric dirt bike owners whose bikes are currently out of production. The LCD dashboard is prone to damage, making the bike unusable without it. I designed a protector that mounts in the same location as the original foam pad, using zip ties just like the original. This design is slightly larger than the original and has the same basic shape as the factory-supplied foam pad. I built this to use a clear plexiglass cover over the LCD, which keeps the inside dry during power washing after riding. My current version does not have button holes in the clear cover. I have printed several of these on Geeetech A10M and A30 3D printers using CURA software. The A10M has a large enough bed to allow printing both halves together at the same time, while the A30 is even better. I used black PLA to keep the look similar to the original bar pad that came with the bike. This is an ongoing design project, and I'll add more information as it changes or when I create other versions of this basic design. I initially drew up the idea on a "bar napkin" before bringing it to life using Solidworks and my A10M printer. Please note that this item is printed from hard plastic, which may not be as forgiving as the original foam pad in the event of a crash. Use at your own risk! As someone who has experienced broken LCD screens easily damaged by others, I'm willing to sacrifice some safety for protection. You'll need to decide if this is a safe decision for yourself.
