This proposed design enables a single support beam assembly to replace the current three-beam setup, with installation using the same technique and hardware. Consequently, manufacturing, certification, and redesign costs are decreased. The new support beam assembly consists of eight stiffener plates and six mounting hole tabs welded onto a UPN120 section. Existing in-service beams can be reused by removing current welded plates and attaching new ones to the UPN120 section, reducing waste and logistic costs for operators.
