In 1396, master builders met in the city of Girona to discuss plans for the Gothic cathedral. They debated whether it should have three or one nave, ultimately deciding on a single, massive structure that became the largest in the world. Six hundred years later, in 1986, a sculpture commemorating this event was unveiled. Created by Josep Maria Subirachs, it depicts a master builder studying blueprints for the temple's design.
