Alphanumeric Filament Sample Chip
thingiverse
This is just jhdyck's _Filament Sample Chip_, bar the addition of a two-character alphanumeric code. An imagined use case unfolds: If one has many colours of filament and prints off these chips to choose the most fitting colour, once the best has been chosen it may be tough to recall the filament from which it was printed, especially if similar colours are possessed. This problem would be solved by assigning and storing a two-character alphanumeric code for each filament, then printing a chip with the corresponding code in the correct filament. The code can be changed by editing the **code** variable in the _sampler.scad_ file. For a proper export to a _.stl_ file in OpenSCAD, the _sampler.scad_ and the _original.stl_ files must be located in the same directory. Editing is now available: For users operating on Linux or MacOS; an automated buildscript for the bash terminal has been released on [github!](https://github.com/ebsaway/FilamentSampler)
