Alphabet Puzzle
thingiverse
I waned to make an appreciation gift for my Instructional Assistant. She spends some great 1:1 time helping kids learn their alphabet. I thought a puzzle would be a fun way for her to engaged the kids.I used pbreeden0's chess board pieces as the base. Then I added letters in Tinkercad alternating between two colors. It was only after I had printed the whole alphabet that I realized that the original design did not have a corner slot piece for the frame. There was no need for it on a chess board that was 8 pieces wide. I went 6 pieces wide and caused a problem for myself. No matter, need is the mother of invention. I made a corner slot piece that works on the upper right and bottom right corners. When completed I then added a little white paint to the letters. Not a necessary step, but I like the way they pop.I have all the pieces you need here if you decide you want to make yours like mine. I also have a couple blank puzzle pieces that you can use to tinker on if you want to do the 8 pieces wide instead of 6 or if you do not have a build plate big enough to print 6 pieces at a time.If you do it like mine, you will need:2 corner slot pieces2 corner tab pieces13 edge tab13 edge slotand the 54 puzzle piecesI also printed all of my pieces at 80% to make it a little smaller. Have fun! Thanks again pbreeden0 for a great build.
