Almandine garnet

Two rhombic dodecahedrons have grown together in a single space, forming one crystal with an almandine garnet composition of Fe₃Al₂(SiO₄)₃. This phenomenon is known as interpenetrant twinning, where two crystals share the same space and are considered a single, twinned crystal. Each individual crystal would have taken on the unique form of a rhombic dodecahedron.
