AllSkyCamera Lens Focuser
thingiverse
This device is for precise focusing of the lens on an AllSkyCamera. The two parts clamp to the upper and lower halves of the lens. The longer screw with spring moves the top part clockwise or counterclockwise as you turn the screw. 3D parts are provided for the ARECONT 1.55mm f/2 lens and the ZWO 2.5mm f/1.2 lens. (The ARECONT is no longer sold under that name, but the exact same thing is sold on AliExpress and I believe at www.allskyoptics.com.)Both lenses have a 28mm diameter top half. The ARECONT has a 30mm diameter bottom half, and the ZWO lens has a 28mm diameter bottom half.Hardware: three #2-56 hex nutstwo #2-56 x 1/2" Philips pan head screwsone #2-56 x 1" Philips pan head screwone spring 0.125"OD 0.093"ID 0.75" long McMaster part # 1986K46The nuts are printed into the plastic parts, so you need to pause the print just before the first layer that covers the hole for the nuts is printed. I printed mine in Prusament PETG on my Prusa MK3S. PLA might melt in the sun. The color? White might get less hot in the sun than black, but white will reflect glare more under moonlight. I printed mine in white, then colored it black with a Sharpie. The ink faded over time. The white and orange part in the photos was just a prototype.
