Alligator - subadult skull
sketchfab
The head skeleton of a subadult Alligator mississippiensis is showcased in this specimen, identified by the catalog number OUVC 10415. It was generously provided for study by the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge in Louisiana through the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife & Fisheries. A detailed scan of the head region was conducted using an OUµCT scanner in 2017 at a resolution of 49.3 µm (0.0493 mm). Seishiro Tada, a University of Tokyo intern at WitmerLab, expertly segmented the skull, mandible, brain endocast, inner ear labyrinth, and tympanic sinuses within Avizo software. These individual parts were then carefully assembled in Maya by Tada for upload to this platform.
