Alligator Clip Lead Hanger
thingiverse
Alligator clip leads are my go-to tool for rapidly jumping wires between prototype projects - however, they're infuriatingly difficult to organize neatly on my workspace. I've lately been utilizing an item of 1/16" craft foam that has been securely taped underneath one of the compartments in a drawer, allowing me to hold the clips efficiently while maintaining cleanliness. Unfortunately, this solution comes with its own set of challenges due to the moisture-depleting properties of the air conditioning system causing issues. Designed for efficient production on a 3D printer, my device is capable of securely attaching itself to surfaces with an overhang length of no less than thirty millimeters. By utilizing double-sided foam adhesive from 3M, it becomes firmly secured and retains ample space for holding between twenty-five and thirty clips in place. Additionally, the included Sketchup file enables modifications to meet your needs - be sure to reupload any modifications and indicate them as a derivative of this project, along with properly noting that they are indeed your print. If you'd like further assistance or more specific directions, please let me know. In terms of general usage, simply apply the clip holders near the top edge and then use double-sided foam tape. The result should give room for about 25-30 clip leads. It is completely straightforward: Print using layer thickness settings ranging from .2 to .3 millimeters, incorporating an eight-to-ten-millimeter brim with twenty percent infill as standard procedure.
