Actual hex key drivers wear out quickly, so I built this to make replacing the "bit" cheap and easy, since the standard L shaped keys cost pennies. It allows you to insert a L shape hex key (or any L shaped bit key) and lock it in place with the retention bolt, then it functions as a normal screwdriver. The .STL file contains the M2 sized driver. If you need another size, read below: The .STL file's key diameter is 1.9mm to fit an M2 key (which is 2mm) and have a very tight fit (at least until it breaks in). If you need to re-size it, refer to the below example calculations: Re-sizing from default M2 to M3 M2 is 2mm but the file is 1.9mm for a VERY tight fit. If you wanted to scale it up to an M3 with a loose fit, then you are scaling the default 1.9mm up to 3mm. 3mm/1.9mm x 100% = ~157.9% scale Note: The handle length and thickness will increase, but this makes sense since as the size of the nut you want to use it on increases, you're going to need to apply more torque most likely. If the standard 1.9 size is too small for you, scale it up to 2.0 or 2.1: 2.1/1.9 x 100 = ~110.5% Category: Hand Tools
