More about the artist Agostino di Duccio (1418 – c. 1481) was a prominent Italian sculptor of the early Renaissance era. Born in Florence, he worked alongside Donatello and Michelozzo, who significantly influenced his style. In 1441, he was accused of theft from a Florentine monastery and subsequently banished from his hometown. The following year, he continued working on the altar of S. Geminiano for the Cathedral of Modena, showcasing Michelozzo's influence. In 1446, he studied late Gothic sculpture in Venice and collaborated with Matteo de' Pasti, executing the sculptural decoration of the Tempio Malatestiano in Rimini between 1449 and 1457. He created numerous works between 1457 and 1470, including a marble façade for the church of S. Bernardino at Perugia and several pieces for Piero di Cosimo de' Medici.
