This spool roller is an innovative design evolution from the original jstck model. It's specifically crafted to fit perfectly onto the "top" plate of the LOGresse P3Steel 3D printer. To ensure optimal slot geometry, several supports have been added; these can be easily removed with a thin pair of pliers. Depending on the quality of the bridges created by your printer, you may need to perform a slight finishing operation using a thin file to achieve a flawless fit on the 3mm steel plate. Each part is secured in place using two 608zz ball bearings and two axes made from an 8mm diameter aluminum tube, cut to a length of 17mm. You might need to redrill the holes with an 8mm drill bit to ensure a perfect diameter for inserting the aluminum tube, then use a wooden hammer for a gentle insertion. Alternatively, you can print and use the specially designed rivet by Gush. To install each spool roller, insert it diagonally onto the top of your printer, rotate it until it's straight, and adjust the distance to fit the width of your spool. Two versions are available: an older, symmetrical design that suits most spools, but may not work with very small diameter spools used for special filaments like filaflex; and a newer, asymmetrical design (labeled "asym") that can accommodate all diameters, although it's slightly weaker than the original. The main photograph shows both versions in place on my printer, demonstrating its versatility even for double extruder printers.
