All-Purpose Dice Rack

All-Purpose Dice Rack

thingiverse

I've created a remix of DanofLA's dice rack design to hold a full set of polyhedral dice, similar to his original version. However, instead of two extra d20s, I've added coin slots for standard US-sized coins. I personally use a variety of coins, including a US Quarter, a Mexican Silver Dollar, an Angel Coin, a US Nickel, a US Penny, a US Dime, and a British Five Pence. The hexagonal towers on my design have recessed holders for each type of dice, with most fitting perfectly. The d20 slot is slightly loose, intentionally designed to make it easy to grab the die above all others. In contrast, the d6 slot was made a bit too tight due to an accidental mistake, but I sanded it down to fix the issue. Although the d6 fits without sanding, it has a good grip on it. My design doesn't include the same details as DanofLA's original version, as I didn't want to spend extra time adding them. However, if anyone wants to add these features, they're free to do so under the same Share-Alike license as my remix. I printed one of the dice racks with Z-Marble from ziro3d, but had to pause it mid-print due to a printer adjustment issue. Unfortunately, I forgot that I was printing from Octoprint and used the onboard pause button, effectively canceling the print. To fix this, I made another slice of just the remaining layers, printed them, and superglued them together. The other dice rack was printed with Hatchbox Gold PLA in one shot and cleaned afterwards with 70% isopropyl alcohol to give it a nice semi-shine finish.
